Should it be legislated in Australia?
Younger than 18-years old and seeking a body piercing? If you’re in New York, that rebellious past time just got a tad more difficult.
“Body piercing can result in severe health risks and it is our obligation as New Yorkers and parents to make sure that our teens are taking every precaution to remain healthy and safe”. States Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The new law, however, does not include ear piercing.
Just last month, the state passed a law banning children 16 and younger from indoor tanning beds. The ban followed the uproar caused by “Tanning Mom” Patricia Krentcil in New Jersey who allegedly took her 6-year old daughter to a tanning booth.
And any young ones thinking of getting a tattoo? Don’t even bother. It’s already illegal for anyone under 18 to get tatted up, even if mom and dad say yes.
