You will experience progressive improvement over several treatments for a fresh, natural look. Laser skin rejuvenation is compatible with a whole host of other cosmetic procedures so that maximum results can be achieved.

Acoustic Wave Therapy for Cellulite Reduction & Skin Tightening
Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT®) is a non-invasive method for providing effective long-term therapy for age-related connective tissue weakness, specifically the cosmetically blemishing condition referred to as cellulite.
Acoustic Wave Therapy was originally used for the treatment and disintegration of kidney stones and through continued extensive research, it was discovered that the process could also provide excellent results in pain management for calcifications and soft tissue issues resulting in the accidental finding of cellulite reduction and skin tightening.
What is Cellulite?
Recent studies have revealed two major causes of cellulite.
The first is a hardening of the connective tissue support system of fat. These are referred to as connective tissue (fibrous) septae. These are made of collagen. Over time, these septae harden and contract. The contraction results in most of the dimpled appearance that characterizes cellulite. Additionally, the contraction leads to a blockage of the blood vessels and lymphatics. The blood vessel blockage further hardens the septae. The lymphatic blockage leads to thick, swollen appearing skin.
The second major cause of cellulite is protrusion of fat cells into the lower part of the skin known as the reticular dermis. This protrusion results in worsening of the dimpling.
How does Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT®) help?
Oscillating acoustic waves are introduced into the body. The connective tissue relaxes, and the firmness of the epidermis increases. Blood circulation in the tissue is significantly enhanced. Collagen production is stimulated, strengthening the dermis and epidermis.
Improved firmness and restored natural elasticity of the skin and connective tissue along with a visible and long-lasting improvement in skin texture can be seen with AWT®.

Facial Appearance Does Not Always Reflect True Chronological Age
A recent study in the Cosmetic Surgery Times showed interesting results that can be used when considering facial rejuvenation.
The study investigated which facial attributes influenced an individual's perceived age.
The results found - the appearance of the eye area
                                 -  the lips
                                 - the skin color and uniformity as being the main influencing facial features.
These new insights could affect the order of importance of skin rejuvenation techniques, and which aspects of the ageing facial skin which would be addressed first.
The results showed two main influencing features of perceived age.
1. The eye area
2. Uniformity of skin color
At Dr Michael Rich's clinic we understand not only which facial skin attributes that have the greatest impact on an observer's perception of age.
But also how best to choose the most benefical rejuvenation technique for a specific ageing facial feature problem.
We are also aware of how an individual's physical appearance has come to play a major role in modern society , and how it can have far reaching, rippling effects in both social circles and work place opportunities.
The knowledge from this research is invaluable for both patients and practitiioners alike as it assists in targeting better solutions for facial rejuvenation.

Treatments for Facial Rejuvenation

1.       Lip Enhancement
Dermal Fillers are excellent products for lip and wrinkle rejuvenation.   Most commonly used is Filler type JU, a smooth injectable gel that is made from a natural complex sugar which is found naturally within the tissue of all human skin. Injected into upper lip wrinkles, or to create definition to the lip line filler type JU creates a natural looking effect that assists ‘Lip Rejuvenation’.

2.       Skin Color and Uniformity
Portrait - is a completely new ‘plasma energy’ technology that works both on the surface of the skin by clearing pigmentation and brown spot, and also below the surface of the skin by stimulating new collagen formation and skin firmness.

NEW FILLER TECHNIQUES
Dermal fillers such as Filler type RE*, PE*, and JU* have all been around for a long time now and have proved themselves to be a good and reliable choice to create a more youthful appearance.
There are several 'new' techniques used with fillers to replace facial volume or stabilize weakening tissue where natural ageing is either depleting underlying tissue, bone mass or fat loss to the face.
Volume loss can occur to the cheeks, around the mouth, to the upper lip where vertical lines become more prominent, or at the corners of the mouth and extending to the jawline.
All of these areas can be improved by simple filling techniques such as the new 'Ferning' technique.  Fillers used in this way are injected into the numbed skin, in multiple filler lines.   These lines of filler then stabilzes the softening tissue and add volume to the facial structure and definition to the face once more.    Volume loss can also be improved by adding filler to the cheek areas.

New Improved Treatments for Acne Scarring & Facial Rejuvenation

The Affirm, a new state-of-the-art technology that gives a unique ‘combined fraxelated’ laser resurfacing, and in our opinion better than any other fraxelated laser available, without the usual downtime.
The Affirm uses both a 1320 and a 1440 wavelength simultaneously to give a precise thermal treatment to the skin. Designed specifically to promote maximum skin firmness and collagen remodeling, the Affirm both smoothes and improve the skin’s texture and is ideal for both acne scarring and facial rejuvenation.
For more information, give us a call to see how the Affirm can work for you.
NEW
Affirm's XPL - Xenon Pulsed Light
The Affirm's state-of-the-art  Xenon Pulsed Light (XPL) technologytargets
redness caused by veins, and the blush of rosacea,
pigmentation and freckles that can occur with ageing or sun damage over time.
The XPL is ideal for skin that shows evidence of chronic exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet light.  “Photo damage” skin shows in signs of  rough texture, irregular pigmentation, and enlarged blood vessels and pores.  The XPL  can improve the skin's quality in both its feel and appearance by targeting both the superficial pigments and veins, causing the vessels to close down and pigments to crust and lift off.
How does Xenon Pulsed Light (XPL) work?
Facial skin treatment works by directing a beam of light in the visible and near infrared range, from 515 nm up to about 1200 nm, to an irregularity in the skin, such as enlarged blood vessels or irregular chromophore. This removes the abnormality without scarring or damage, while stimulating collagen production to tighten the surrounding tissue, resulting in improved skin texture and reduced signs of ageing.
The XPL works well fon the Face, Neck ,Décolleté, arms and back.
